Insuring your Campervan, Motorhome and RV’s

Campervans, Motorhomes, RV’s and Camping trailers are expensive, and will probably be the most expensive item you own besides your main home, so it is important to ensure that you have the right cover, have a good breakdown and recovery policy and know which countries the insurance covers you for.

than in other European countries and the insurance policies in Spain will also cover all English and British plated vehicles.

Breakdown recovery and legal defence insurance

You will also need to check that your passengers are covered as some unscrupulous insurance agents and brokers will remove this cover to reduce the insurance premium quote just to get the business, not advise you of this fact, and put your passengers at risk.

is not an automatic inclusion unless you have a fully comprehensive policy and it can be added on to any of the other insurances as an optional extra.

Third Party Fire & Theft Motorhome Insurance

is as above but includes any damage caused by fire and theft. Make sure your policy includes any vandalism.

Fully comprehensive Motorhome Insurance

will cover most of the risks above, have breakdown recovery, cover all your passengers and also give you any legal and defence requirements. Fully Comprehensive Motorhome insurance in Spain can also cover your vehicle for the total loss value. Agree this amount at the onset, otherwise you will run the risk of being paid out less than the replacement value as the settlement will be based on the average market value of your vehicle at the time, and these tend to be lower than the replacement values for the same vehicles.

European Insurance cover for Motorhomes

is included in all of these policies and permits you to drive anywhere in Europe, knowing that you are properly covered wherever you are.

Insurance Excess.  Increasing the first excess on the Insurance policy can reduce the Insurance premiums. This is the amount you will pay in the event of making a claim.  The higher this amount of excess available, the lower your premium will be.

Campervan Insurance for accessories

and removable contents, such as Satellite navigation equipment can be obtained as an optional extra, so if you have personal effects that you also wish to cover, it can be done.

are too numerous to mention. Search the Internet for the official ones and you will find that most will welcome you. Security is usually good on most official campsites and some have cameras covering the entry and exit points.
